Sinon, je viens de tester l'imprimante, et ça fait ramer l'ordi sans rien imprimer (que ce soit depuis ooffice, ggv ou xpdf)
Va falloir que je révise les commandes textes pour l'impression...

Tu peux essayer de te connecter en mode normal et non en failsafe (session de saubegarde) depuis gdm ?

* en mode normal : j'obtiens un écran marron, avec une fenêtre de terminal en haut à gauche dans laquelle je ne peux même pas écrire.
Si je fais "Fichier -> Fermer la fenêtre", je retourne à l'écran d'accueil de gdm.

ben en fait, l'impression ne fonctionne pas, que ce soit depuis un programme ou depuis la console :
quand je lance lpr fichier, rien ne se passe.
si je fais lpq, il me dit que l'imprimante est prête et que la file est vide
(alors que je viens de lancer un travail et qu'il n'est pas sorti de l'impression)



Je ne parviens pas à reconfigurer l'imprimante :
* en mode console, plus je lis de trucs, plus je n'y comprends rien...
* en mode graphique, même en lançant startx sous root (je sais, c'est PAS BIEN ! ),
il me dit qu'il ne parvient pas à contacter cups !!!

(pourtant, j'ai vérifié que les paquets cups sont bien installés... et je les ai même supprimés et réinstallés...)


Et là, ça fait vraiment chier !!!
Autant jusqu'à présent, j'arrive à m'en sortir avec tous mes programmes habituels (même si c'est un peu lourd à utiliser pour le moment),
autant si je ne peux pas imprimer, ça va vite me poser de sérieuses difficultés pour mon boulot !!!

Je dirais réinstaller ubuntu-minimal,ubuntu-standard,ubuntu-desktop .

Refais un update puis un dist-upgrade ..

Ben y avais de la friture sur la ligne...
Bon, j'ai fait un dpkg-reconfigure --all

puis j'ai un peu modifié le fichier gdm.conf (cf. mes derniers posts ci-dessus, qui répondaient à des questions qu'on me posait),
ce qui a légèrement modifié les événements à l'ouverture, mais ça n'a toujours pas résolu mon pb :
il n'y a plus de message d'erreur lorsque j'arrive sur gdm,
mais ensuite, pour me connecter au serveur X, j'en suis au même point : ce n'est possible qu'en session secours xterm
(ou en lançant sudo startx, mais là, c'est une session X sous root)


Je crois que je vais suivre le conseil de mon double et réinstaller breezy totalement
(je suis en train de télécharger le CD d'install...)

J'ai pas trop le temps la sinon je serai passe te voir.

Deux dernieres pistes :

1- revenir temportairement en hoary puis revenir sur breezy

ou

2- decommenter tous les depots non ubuntu et recommencer update et dist-upgrade .. plusieurs apt-get -f install peuvent aussi aider.

Personnellement, je n'ajoute un dépôt dans mon sourcelist que pour le téléchargement du logiciel désiré...

Après, je commente la ligne car sinon, trop de problèmes potentiels sur des MAJ critiques
